Hello...I am a 46 year old mother of two wonderful daughters and Nana to a 5 year old grandson. I started reading the book and could not help but join the site to start my giving journey.
So today for my birthday I decided to give back because I'm so very blessed. I went and bought 240 lbs of dog and cat food to take to a local shelter. I was disappointed when I got there and found it wasn't open until Thursday but such is life sometimes. I decided that Thurday after work i will make sure it's my first stop before home.
yesterday I had the privilege to give some of my homemade beeswax hand salve to my realtor. She was looking at some of the items that I made and I handed her the salve told her to take it then she showed me her hands how dry and cracked they were. What an amazing opportunity to share with someone who really needed and appreciated it.
day 2. I brought Chili to one of my coworkers as a surprise. Then spent the evening giving some quality uninterrupted one on one time to my boyfriend. I even had dinner made when he came over after work. LOL
Day 1...laundry lady. Stopped by my daughters house and grabbed her laundry took it home and did it for her. She has been working a ton of hours and hasn't had the time to go to the laundromat.
Well...I'm starting again at day one. I was feeling so good then took a week vacation from work and funny thing got very depressed. It's funny when you forget gratitude things start falling apart. So I am back with a better attitude and I'm feeling better about this new journey.
Day 11. Went to the gym and gave a huge hug to my friend who works there. I gave it to her just to let her know I love and really missed her. She thought it was because I had read a post on social media that a young lady she knew had passed away. I seriously had no clue about the young lady but it was an awesome experience to show someone affection and for her to really need it at that time for a reason I had no clue about.
That is the universe speaking to you and the more you give, the more open you will be to receive these types of messages. (Speaking from past experience.)
day 10. We have a quarterly test that is required to be done at work. It is not my turn to perform the test but my Tech's needed to do other things and it had to be done yesterday. I did all the testing and was done before they needed the lab for their activities.
Day 9. Today I picked roses and put them in a coffee cup and took them to my good friend and coworker to brighten her desk. I absolutely love flowers and it was great to give some away.
day 6. Lend a hand. Went to my parents house and helped my dad replace a kitchen faucet. It was nice to do something nice for them because they do so much for me.
Ahhh, that reminds me of how I was the kid that hung out and helped dad when we were growing up. I wonder what I could help him with now....I'll have to keep my eyes open for opportunities! : )
