YESTERDAY WAS LABOR DAY HOLIDAY, BUT I WAS BUSY I went to a 12-Step picnic and celebrated my sponsor Susie’s 41st sobriety birthday. It was amazing until Trooper almost got in a dog fight on the way out of the picnic grounds. A friend from church is trying to get Trooper some homeopathic remedies to see if it works for his anxiety and aggression. I feel like I am failing at his training, but am trying not to get discouraged.
After pigging out at the picnic, I came home and labored for hours over a new chapter for 29 Life Lessons, my second book. The story is about birthing my beautiful son, Henry Zane Walker Foster. My pregnancy was not planned and it wasn’t pretty; lots of horrific complications that were life threatening for both of us. I have been working on the story for three months and finally polished it up and sent five pages to my amazing agent, Rita Rosenkranz. We spoke briefly this morning. She was coming back from three days off to a pile of emails, so l waited patiently for her to catch up. Her response was positive so I may publish a short excerpt next week. I FEEL LIKE I AM PREGNANT WITH STORIES The energy it takes to keep working on 29 Life Lessons after ten years of labor pains is sometimes exhausting. I am a recovering perfectionist who sometimes forgets that progress is easier to maintain if you throw away the need to be perfect. Sometimes I just have to GIVE UP, throw up your hands and truly LET GO of the need to control things all the time. God is in charge and when I remember that things go more smoothly. TROOPER TRAINING and TOOTH FAIRY FUND Trooper (my rescue dog) is training to be a Therapy and Service Dog. I have two appointments with his trainer coming up next week and I need help covering the additional $95 per hour private training costs.
