Lydia - hard days are exactly that. Hard and they made so much harder when we're facing down the black dog of our negativity, depression, anxiety, stress...I feared that dog for so long...until I figured out how to love my way out. I learned that dark scary thing actually needed MORE attention, (not less) to lovingly nuzzle my hand before gently walking away and letting me be. Loving solutions are tough...try and start small. Can you figure out a physical place in your body where you might hold stress? In the beginning of my process I was able to work with my therapist and figure out that I held stress in my feet and hands. ALWAYS ignoring them until they were rough and raw. For a first practical practice, I just bought some lotion I liked the scent of at TJ Maxx for something like $3.99 and as I felt myself biting my nails or fingers, or clenching my feet, instead of telling myself what an idiot I was, I treated myself with some lovely lotion. Crazy thing...it worked. In my entire adult life my hands and feet were never soft and pretty and now they are. They really are. I know this is small, very small. But the success I had with loving the parts where I held stress really worked for me - and as I saw the differences in them, it prompted me to continue finding loving solutions. It may not be what you intended to receive today, but I'm sending you lots of positive energy and the very best of intentions. Find small ways to succeed each day and even the hard days will get easier. Love and Light.
