Micky Hazard Honorary Ambassador

Posted 10/9/2015 by Stephen Fells

Micky Hazard is so much more than a former Spurs player. He won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup, was nominated for the Spurs Ultimate Team (alongside Gareth Bale, Glenn Hoddle and Paul Gascoigne), is a lifelong Spurs fan and even had two top ten hit singles :) We are proud and excited to have Micky as our Honorary Ambassador!

Growing up in Sunderland, Micky began playing football with his friends and later joining his local school team. During one of these matches, he was spotted by a Tottenham scout but was too young to be offered a trial.

As a schoolboy Micky was invited to train with Spurs and continued to have week-long sessions with the club until, aged 16 when he moved to London and joined the youth squad as an apprentice.

Micky signed a professional contract with Spurs and made his League debut in a 3–0 victory versus Everton on April 19th, 1980 aged 20. He went on to make a total of 102 apperances during two stints with Spurs playing alongside Ray Clemence (MBE), Graham Roberts, Steve Archibald, Glenn Hoddle, Garth Crooks (OBE), and Ossie Ardiles

The highlights of Micky's career? Winning the 1982 FA Cup and 1984 UEFA Cup (where his crosses led to goals in both legs of the final against Anderlecht).

Micky became an Honorary Ambassador for the East Fishkill Spurs Supporters Club in 2015.
