I went to library last week to return an audio book and pick out a new one. A quick dash in and out since I supposed to be picking up 20 crates of milk from an area food bank and delivering it to where I work as the Volunteer Coordinator for a soup kitchen. Since I was in a hurry, I quickly scanned the titles and this title immediately caught my attention. It’s one that I have been meaning to read for some time, so I grabbed it without even thinking about it. I am SO glad I did. Sometimes, we are “directed” by our higher power, and finding this book was meant to be. I knew from the first few lines, that it was EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Just hearing the words lifted my spirits. I have an autoimmune disease, and my current medications have pretty severe side effects that are wreaking havoc on my body, mind, and spirit. The more I listened, the better I have felt. This morning, without even really thinking about it- I gave my first gift. And then a few hours later, on impulse, I gave a second gift, just to be kind. I didn’t get caught up in feeling overly proud of my actions, but felt a quiet, rewarding warmth that filled my heart and soul. I am looking forward to the next 28 days and the joy it brings to the universe. #29daysin2018.
